Yoga at ALIGN is an individualized experience based on a small teacher / student ratio. The studio limits class size to ten, allowing the instructor to spend more time observing, correcting and interacting with each person in the class.
Hilary Lindsay has created yoga programs for corporations, choreographed videos for celebrity clients, works one on one with high profile clients, teaches comprehensive yoga classes for children, empowering classes for teens, and inspired instruction for adults. She has been covered by popular magazines and television shows and continues to work for a variety of publications as a yoga expert. She aims to energize people to feel empowered by the physical experience of gaining strength through self-awareness in a joyful environment. In Los Angeles, Hilary studied and took her teacher training from yoga and meditation teacher Diana Lang, who was trained in the Iyengar method. As an early student of Power Yoga originator Bryan Kest, she was inspired to develop a groundbreaking flow style using her dance background. Diana’s visualizations and thoughtful asanas have a lasting influence in this work. Hilary maintains her training with continued education from senior Iyengar teachers. Hilary won recognition for her unique approach to yoga with the 2001 calendar she created with photographer husband Rob Lindsay, “Rebel Yogis, A Celebration of Students”.
Hilary is a E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance.
Active Yoga with Hilary:
Active Yoga is the trademark name for Hilary's yoga. Her classes are physically challenging with attention to detail. Students are given directions that facilitate their unique situations while the group is engaged in a common focus. Active yoga is a way for students to learn how to organize themselves in body, breath and mind. The student will gain strength, balance, grace and flexibility in both movement and thought. These classes are a fine portal for beginning students as well as more experienced students as the classes are tailor made and modified.
